Thanet Star - actively improving Thanet one idea at a time

About Thanet Star

Thanet Star is an independent news and views column written by it's head (in fact soul) editor, Matt. Technically you might want to call this site a blog (and many people will) but what matters most is not what you want to call it but how well I (as Editor) manage to say something that is both timely and relevant.

A fresh Voice

The aim of Thanet Star is to bring a fresh voice to Thanet and to explore local issues. While I'm doing that I hope to dispel a few myths that stop businesses (that includes self employed people) from making the most from the Internet. There are a lot of cowboy "web masters" out there and hopefully while we look at Thanet I can provide some resources for the business users in the audience.

Thanet Star is for you

That is not to say that Business is the only topic I cover. Indeed if it happens in Thanet then I might well want to cover it - if it will be of interest to other people.

At the end of the day this site is about you. If I can bring you a look at a side of Thanet you have not seen before then I feel I have done my job well.

As such we offer all readers the chance to comment on every item we publish with very few exceptions. your opinion is as much a part of the story as the part that I contribute and I hold that there is no such thing as a poor comment.

Thanet Star's Sections

To help keep things clear the site is devided into two main sections Thanet Star's Main Items and Thanet Star's Micro News Micro news is simply a very tiny version of the main event and can be found in the side bar. The side bar is packed with other usefull resources that I hope you will get a lot out of.

Both the main and micro sections of the site are broken down into sections called topics. you can call them bob if it makes you feel better because the name is not so important as the fact that they make life easier.

Some examples of these topics include the awards section and business section.
