While I deal with a lot of personal "stuff" and am not in any real state to report here is a round up of what is going on in Thanet.

BBC News - Parents protest at Ramsgate children's home plan

Parents demonstrate against plans to turn offices in Kent into a residential children's home for up boys aged between 11 and 18.

The debate on TDC managing to web cast meetings (at last) takes an odd turn in which the printed media come in for a lashing from a Conservative Party councillor.

Just your everyday reporting and commenting on the news from Tony sees (TDC Councillor) Simon Moores accuse Thanet Gazette or the Thanet Times of being factually unreliable.

Some more fires (what a supprise). Apparently this one is suspicious.

Former hotel goes up in flames

More than 40 firefighters have been called to a former hotel in Margate that has gone up in flames. Crews were called to the building on Sweyn Roadjust after 5am today (Saturday). Several floors and the roof of the building, which was being converted intoflats,havecaught light.

Good news for the Kent couple taken by Somali pirates. While not the release we are all hoping for it is a possitive sign I think.

A Kent couple kidnapped by Somali pirates have been temporarily reunited after spending weeks apart.

Apparently it is news that a family are happy to have the house of local killer Peter Tobin. Anyone who is supprised does not understand the depth of need in Thanet. The low-brow rags seem to be making a meal of it as usual. - WE'VE MOVED INTO PETER TOBIN'S HOUSE OF HORRORS

It looks like any happy family home with kiddies' toys scattered about and a sandpit in the back garden.

Now to sports where it's not such good news for Rams' supporters.

Indeed with Thanet Wanderers being beaten at home this is not shaping up to be a good week for Thanet's sports.

Beckenham made the long journey coach journey to Thanet on a chilly March day but made the trip home on the happy bus as they secured their third victory in a row to maintain their good start to 2010.
