Red Hot News: Thanet's Buzz Right Now!
Written by Matt B · first published 09/03/2008
This is the Thanet Star and I am Matt B bringing you a round up of the headlines that evidently matter to you. What have the "home brew" media been saying of late? What is the hot topic? Find out now.
General Thanet News Zumiweb and the Balkan Belly Dancers invites you to visit the Belgian Cafe for a "...fusion of Belly Dance and Burlesque eccentricity..." For this story "Thanet Creative Arts Network" comes back to life. So the whole world is off to see the ladies then?
Meanwhile David Clare goes with a far more "safe for work" story of his own success taking photographs of Robins in "The Rewards of Patience or The Poser Robin". (Any one who has tried to photograph a small bird and get a good image knows that it's not easy.)
Bleak Mouse has the interesting title of "Hello...Yea..Can't talk now ...I'm on the Evolutionary Ladder".
Keep reading for coverage of Margate, Ramsgate, Politics and Mainstream News.
Margate: Margate specific blogging is a little slow at the moment with Big News Margate Addressing "bigger issues". Turneround Margate still has the story of Planning Approval for Turner Contemporary while Margate Architecture still has Want to join a CAAC? The Cliftonville Chronicle is still asleep though.
Ramsgate: Ramsgate Mitch is still fixated on his quest for the Lantern at the Iron Duke with his last posting carrying photographs of the pub in question. Michael Child's "Thanet Online" blog carries Pictures of Ramsgate and video of the model village.
Politics now - the conservative showing for actively engaged blogging seems to be upheld entirely by Ken Gregory who is currently expressing his opinion on the recent uproar over soldiers in uniform while at the other end of the scale David Green is asking people to "Get off the Fence" (talking about some very ugly fences put up of late). On the topic of council persons Big News Margate brings up the local "controversy" again while also passing comment on the comments of Alex King. General satirical comment on this topic can be found at Thanet Strife.
The Thanet Observer is still observing that KCC's got money to burn while Observing Thanet Wonderwoman coming to Town. More up to date sees local MP Stephen Ladyman being called a "traitor to Great Britain" and Dr Moores thinks he has it bad.
Now the "Newsy News". M20 chaos ends after Stack lifted says the BBC. The Guardian makes a brief mention of the Crane smashing through roof of a newly built luxury home (This snippet predates Thanet Star's coverage by a day). Covering the story of the recent murder are Kent-online with the only article to show up on a basic and quick search.
If I missed your favourite blog I apologise now. There is only so much I can review in any given article and also I might not be following all blogs yet. Feel free to give some feedback regarding the future of such roundups.
