Do you have decent internet?

Over the past few years, the world has become more and more reliant on the wonder that is the World Wide Web. With the current state of employment and virtually no jobs being advertised offline, it is vital for the entire country to have a decent and stable internet connection. Thanet doesn’t exactly have this in place.

As the political world is demanding more and more of their services move to an online platform, with benefits being moved to online claims, the aforementioned job market and even booking an appointment with your GP moving to online, they've recognised the importance of everybody being online. It even made it into the Queen's speech.

Yet Thanet, and the majority of other rural areas in the Country, are falling behind. With average download speeds of 10MBS, this is simply not good enough for our computing needs anymore. MPs have also started to pull back from their push to make it a legal right to have decent internet, citing people not wanting to be connected.

There is something that can be done about this. Recently, a petition has been started to ask Craig Mackinlay to ensure that Thanet gets the internet connection that it deserves, nay, that it needs. You can sign here.

I'll be signing, will you?
