A Rough Guide to Broadstairs

Broadstairs is one of those parts of Thanet that has an incredible amount to offer but frequently gets overlooked. I'd like to put that right with this post.

One of Thanet's less talked about blogs, The Bay Tree Broadstairs Blog, has a photo-rich overview of some of the Things to do in Thanetwhich, of course, focuses very heavily on things to do in Broadstairs.

Broadstairs hosts at least 5 festivals over the year.

If there are any more, please let me know in the comments below.

In addition to the festivals, I counted four museums and tours.

Again, if I missed any please let me know.

There are also a lot of pubs, and amazing places to eat in Broadstairs. Some, like the Chapel, have unique character, but all have some special to offer. I'm not going to try and list all the places to eat and drink in Broadstairs because I'd be here all day and I do not want to play favourites.

Within a few miles of Broadstairs, there are even more things to do.

  • Revolution Skatepark
  • Ramsgate Tunnels
  • The Horby Visitor Centre (somewhere I've always meant to visit)
  • Kentís only Computer Museum - Micro Museum
  • Walpole Bay Hotel Museum

The point is, that there is plenty to do in Broadstairs and I think it deserves a bigger mention.

To compile this article I relied on such sources as The Bay Tree Hotel's Guide to Broadstairs, Visit Broadstairs, and Things to do on a rainy day (Broadstairs).
