Farage upstaged by Nazi Dancing Girls (video).

Farage's unremarkable Winter Gardens gathering was thoroughly upstaged Friday as dancing Nazis and a 16 tonne World War II tank crashed the "party".

Performers from Mel Brooksí of the acclaimed musical comedy The Producers showed up outside the Winter Gardens with a high-kicking performance to the famous number Springtime For Hitler.

In a break from the relatively unremarkable and not really worth mentioning political gathering of not-Tories-any-more a much more interesting upstaging took place. A trope of female dancers in Gestapo-style hot pants, Jackboots and insignia surprised (and possibly delighted) people gathering to cheer, jeer or spectate Farage and his cronies at a gathering for whatever self-congratulatory event that they had organised. (Honestly, no one outside of their little circle much cared anyway).

The ladies were in Thanet to promote the new touring production The Producers. Which they did with an amusingly ironic rendition of the song Springtime For Hitler which blared from a P.A system hung on the German World War IIís tank turret. Which just goes to show how seriously the rest of the world takes this flash-in-the-pan party.

Producer Adam Spiegel apparently said afterwards: Iím disappointed but not entirely surprised to see that UKIP are trying to hitch a publicity ride on the back of the show.

It is hard to overstate just how amusing I have found this news story.

How Family Friendly was GEEK this year?

Did the Thanet based games expo just get caught breaking the law?

Eagle-eyed readers of my technology and geeky stuff blog have pointed out that there are pictures of GEEK letting under 18s play mature content games.

Game Expo East Kent GEEK, was on at the Winter gardens this weekend. By all reports they did somethings well but disappointed in many areas (not least of which was the huge rise in ticket prices).

There is a review of the event on Indi Retro News and this is where a whole other side to GEEK was first noticed. That side being a rather fast and loose interpretation of "family friendly".

Over to you - was this a mistake by GEEK or were they right to let kids play graphically violent games?

GEEK, are you going?

It is that time of year again when Game Expo East Kent takes place.

The odd thing this year is that I have yet to hear anyone say that they are going. I am sure that some of you are going, so speak up: are you going to GEEK?

Ramsgate leisure development or more houses?

According to The Isle of Thanet Gazette Council looking to sell Staffordshire Street car park to developers. Apparently the council is advertising for developers to express interest although, typically for the paper, it fails to say where.

It is suggested that the council would like to see a leisure development but will consider anything. So what do you think are the chances that we will not actually just see a bunch of houses built there?
